Past-due child support is the only item that the IRS should withhold from your Economic Impact Check

The IRS will not withhold funds from your stimulus check to in payment for unpaid federal taxes, state taxes, local taxes, or any other government owed debts with one exception. The Economic Impact Payment is offset only by past-due child support. If you owe back child support, the Bureau of the Fiscal Service will send you a notice that an offset for child support payments has been made
